Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) is a technologically advanced depression treatment for patients who have not received adequate results from antidepressants.
About TMS Therapy
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is FDA approved for patients with major depression and has shown promise in other areas such as bipolar depression, anxiety post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), postpartum depression as well as depression associated with Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and other neurological conditions.
TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate the parts of the brain associated with mood disorders. Because TMS does not involve medications, it does not cause weight gain, sexual dysfunction or other systemic effects associated with medications.
